Currently a Soldier in the US Army since 2003, trained in the Army and received Medical degree from Nebraska University Medical Center, practices out of Joint Base Andrews, Maryland in Emergency Medicine.
Has been into fitness since high school where he boxed, then transitioned to conventional weight training, then to power lifting and CrossFit training. In 2015 wife received orders to move to Maryland, bought a house but sale of house in NY was delayed and it resulted in 2 mortgage payments for 4 months. Hours of work sky rocketed and has steadily climbed as opposed to slowing down ever since. He stayed dedicated to exercise to a degree but by 2017 weighed 220 lbs from the 180lbs he was 2 years prior. At the time he was working at numerous emergency departments around Maryland while continuing his dedication to military service and leadership roles for his Emergency Medicine Group. In 2017 he changed the workout regimen to a no days off, full body workouts, no more splits of upper and lower body to be able to stay consistent despite working over 70 hours a week. Was able to improve mobility, endurance, overall energy, lose weight and maintain strength. Then on December 2, 2022, he suffered two seizures due to a rare blood clot in the brain that resulted in a venous stroke. It was through the years of consistent training, that allowed him to recover to create Delta Strong Fitness in 2023. He is also co-owner of M&K Elite Fitness see below.
To teach, train and coach Men and Women who have families and obligations and minimal time to dedicate fitness in their lives. Slogan he now lives by “Circumstances do not change responsibility, dedicate to fitness now, so you can enjoy the journey not just the destination”.
We are the most sedentary animals on earth. We spend more time sitting whether at a desk, meeting, car, dinner table, couch etc. No animal on earth uses a chair, but humans. A man. made object that has become our demise. Multiply how many hours a day you spend sitting sedentary in activities above, it is significant. The average American age 20-75 spends 6.5 hours sitting, and a total of 9.5 hours sedentary every day. Kids age 12-19 spend 8 hours sitting a large part in school. The muscles that atrophy are the most essential to every activity of daily living They are our lower back, core, glutes, and lower extremities most significantly the hamstrings. Losing the ability to squat is the main reason people lose their independence and end up in nursing homes.
The majority are unable to apply the same level of dedication to daily fitness as they do to their occupation and obligations, whether it be a Doctor, Engineer, Soldier, Father, or Mother because the lack of the existence of exercise in our lives does not have an immediate impact as it would if we ignored our obligations to our job and parenting. The same goes for adding daily fitness into our lives. If we acknowledge our need to exercise on occasion it will also not have any immediate impact. That is because it requires consistency to see the effects. Just as being sedentary for many years will eventually result in poor health such as obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, coronary artery disease, stroke to name a few, exercising 12-30 minutes every day will not only reduce these risks, but will eventually result in better mobility, functioning, less pain, better conditioning, and strength.
Delta Strong Fitness will make dedication and consistency seamless in your everyday life when it comes to daily fitness. You will be able to counteract the hours of sedentary activity by introducing daily, convenient, and efficient exercise routines.
